IMSE offers a Six-Hour Parent Training Program on Orton-Gillingham reading instrtuction
This research backed training was developed in response to requests from parents, curriculum directors, principals and teachers for a multi-sensory, language-based program to empower parents to help their children become successful readers. Combining parental instruction with staff development supports current educational practices, and can provide a vital component of effective reading instruction.
Parents will learn the same Orton-Gillingham methodology
used in the best learning centers:
- The three part drill (visual, auditory and blending)
- Basic sounds of the English language
- Multi-sensory techniques for sight words
